Third-Party Administrators Rapidly Adopting CIGNA Services Through TriZetto
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - January 19, 2010 - The CIGNA/TriZetto health service offering is gaining significant marketplace momentum since it was launched in July 2009. Designed to deliver CIGNA provider quality, accessibility and savings programs for third-party administrators (TPAs) using TriZetto's QicLink™ product line, the CIGNA/TriZetto offering already has been adopted by seven TPA clients, TriZetto announced today.
The joint CIGNA/TriZetto services offering enables TriZetto's TPA clients to deliver efficient and affordable benefit and administration solutions to the self-funded markets they serve. Through the TriZetto Premier Partnership Program™, the program offers national access to CIGNA services offerings such as reinsurance, out-of-network contract and fee negotiation and large-case management, combined with TriZetto's remote claims processing services and the QicLink core administration technology.
Douglas Morse, president of Group Insurance Service Center, Inc. in Pembroke, Mass., was one of the first TriZetto clients to contract with CIGNA for this solution and is enthusiastic about the new business opportunities he is seeing as a result. "Quote activity has increased dramatically since this new service offering has become part of our play book," he said.
Bruce Flunker, president of Employee Benefit Consultants, Inc. based in Milwaukee, Wisc., with additional sites in Kentucky and Ohio, also has found the CIGNA/TriZetto service offering to be a highly valuable tool for his operation. According to Flunker, "The CIGNA offering from TriZetto enables us to support employer groups beyond our current territory with a nationally based service. We are using this capability to significantly expand our operation and help us win new business in the year ahead."
The joint CIGNA/TriZetto service solution is part of the TriZetto Premier Partnership Program, an exclusive offering that leverages the company's industry-leading QicLink claims administration platform, and its largest single source of self-funded employer membership, to generate attractive pricing, packaging and QicLink system integration.
Joe Manheim, senior vice president of benefits administration for TriZetto, is pleased that clients are capitalizing on the value of this innovative strategy. "This offering delivers on the promise we made to our clients when we first established the TriZetto Premier Partnership Program - to provide affordable, high quality, QicLink-integrated products and services to help TPAs effectively manage the cost and quality of care and gain significant competitive advantage in their markets," he said.
"We wanted to give our clients a unique solution they can use to reduce benefit plan expense and capture new business, and we have succeeded," Manheim continued.
