TriZetto's Unique "Try Before You Buy" Services Allow Health Plans to Thoroughly Evaluate Facets Administrative Software
Customer Readiness Lab Allows Plans to Test Facets' Performance and Compatibility with Existing Systems
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – October 20, 2004 – Health plans can now thoroughly evaluate The TriZetto Group, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: TZIX) Facets® administrative software - using their own claims data, existing systems and business processes - thanks to TriZetto's Customer Readiness Lab (CRL). The new services offered through the CRL give health plan administrators an unprecedented capability to "kick the tires" of the Facets system before they purchase it. For existing Facets customers, the CRL provides a testing environment for upgrading to the latest version of the software.
TriZetto's CRL services use the customer's own data to re-create the health plan's business environment, allowing the health plan to operate, test and benchmark TriZetto software in a setting that is realistic, but separate from the customers' live production environment. The lab also provides a controlled setting in which TriZetto, working with the health plan's IT staff, can fine-tune the performance of previously installed applications, systems and networks. For example, the CRL can be used to adjust a customer's system to handle higher processing volumes and faster network speeds.
Recently, the CRL played a crucial role in The Regence Group's decision to expand and upgrade its Facets system and move to a hosted model. Regence, which includes health plans serving nearly three million members in the Northwest and Mountain states, has been using the Facets system and HealthWeb® Suite on a licensed basis in its Idaho region for several years. After working with the CRL to conduct extensive testing of Facets Extended Enterprise, the latest version of Facets, Regence is now consolidating all four of its regional health plans onto TriZetto's flagship system, which TriZetto will host (along with the HealthWeb Suite) in its data center.
"We were able to actually see Facets Extended Enterprise at work with our data, in an environment that mirrored the operations of all four of our health plans," said David MacLeod, director of information protection and assurance for The Regence Group. "This made our decision to move to the new system an easy one. TriZetto had the resources and the expertise not only to validate, but to build and deliver our hosted solution, including Facets, our Internet platform and our other ancillary applications. We couldn't have done that on our own."
According to Patricia Gorman, executive vice president of TriZetto's Business Solutions unit, any health plan looking to purchase or upgrade their administrative software needs to know if the new system will be able to handle the demands of membership growth and increased processing volumes. The health plan also needs to know if the system will perform well and interact seamlessly with the organization's existing systems and business processes.
"With TriZetto's Customer Readiness Lab, we're able to show our customers, not just tell them, the answers to these questions," says Gorman. "Our technology experts use state-of-the-art equipment to improve software implementations and help our customers make the best overall IT decisions. This level of service - and the confidence it gives our customers as they watch our products solve their problems - stands apart in the healthcare industry."
