TriZetto Names James J. Sullivan Vice President, Legal Affairs
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – August 21, 2001 – The TriZetto® Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX) announced today that it has named James J. Sullivan, as corporate vice president, Legal Affairs. In this role, Sullivan will serve as TriZetto's principal in-house counsel responsible for all legal matters at TriZetto.

Sullivan has practiced law for more than 15 years. Most recently, he ran a legal and consulting practice focused on general corporate and securities law matters for technology and emerging growth companies. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Long Beach Financial Corporation, a publicly traded company acquired by Washington Mutual, Inc. in 1999. Prior to that, Sullivan served as vice president, legal counsel for American Savings Bank, F.A., where he served as its lead corporate and transactional attorney. Before joining American Savings, Sullivan was a corporate and securities associate with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher in Orange County, California. Sullivan also worked as an accountant with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young LLP) before attending law school.
Sullivan received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 1985 from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where he served as chief articles editor of the Loyola Law Review. In 1980, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/accounting from the University of Southern California. Sullivan has been a certified public accountant in California since 1982.
